If your car won’t start, we’ll attempt to jump-start your battery. If your battery is failing, we can test it and replace it with a new one on the spot. Battery replacement not available in all areas.
If you run out of fuel, we’ll bring you enough to get you to the nearest gas station. If you need diesel fuel, request it when you call. Diesel may not be available in all locations.
Locked your keys inside your car? We'll send service to help you gain entry. If the attempt fails, the Towing Service policy will apply. Reimbursement amounts for parts and labor vary per your AAA Membership plan.
You can get towed to a AAA Auto Repair shop or your preferred mechanic. Miles of free towing available to you vary per your Membership level.
Our drivers are trained to identify and address some of the most common mechanical problems. We'll make minor adjustments not requiring parts or supplies in an effort to get your vehicle running.
Frequent Questions About AAA Roadside Service
AAA Membership provides each Member with Emergency Road Service up to four times per member in a Membership year. AAA Emergency Road Service coverage includes the following services:
Mobile Battery Service
Roadside assistance benefits become available 48 hours after Membership purchase. However, if you’re stuck at the side of the road and need assistance within the 48-hour period, you can pay an additional $75 fee to waive the waiting period and access your Membership benefits immediately.
Free immediate towing is limited to five miles. A per-mile fee will be applied thereafter. The fee amount varies by location.
AAA prefers that Members use its emergency road service whenever possible but there may be times when AAA services are not available, such as extreme weather conditions or when there is no AAA contractor in the area. In these cases, AAA Members can request reimbursement.
Reimbursement forms are available to download and print under the “Membership” menu. Include the original paid receipts. (Always keep copies for your files.) Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.

Please note that applications and receipts received 60 days after the date the service was rendered may not be considered for reimbursement. All receipts must include the name of a valid AAA member from Northern California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Alaska, Montana, or Wyoming and an itemized description of the services rendered. (i.e. breakdown location, tow destination, or type of lockout [home or car]).
